Hello,

I am Leyla Özge Peker. My story began in the winter of 1984 in Istanbul, my beautiful city, where I always draw inspiration and strength. I believe that we are all born with a story, and that those who, over time, find the light within themselves are not just the heroes of the story, but the story itself. Atelier Leyla Özge is the story of a woman who found the light within herself. Writing this story was not easy at all.

Most of the time, we are forced to live within the roles assigned to us, in clothes tailored for us but not truly ours. We get lost in learned phrases like "that wouldn't suit me," or "that's not appropriate for my age." My journey became beautiful when I freed myself from these phrases. How wonderful it is to look at the view from your own window, not someone else's, to find yourself within yourself, not in the judgments of others... After I found myself, I started hearing a lot from those around me, "that suits you, but it wouldn't suit me." Yet, just before a turn, I too was trapped in the same molds.

My dear woman, who has forgotten how to form her own sentences amidst imposed clichés, who fears color, who shies away from laughing out loud; what suits me, suits you too. The story begins by embracing it for yourself. A large earring, a colorful necklace, a bold ring... Everything you see on another woman and say "that suits her" will suit you too. Neither body is independent of the soul, nor is the soul unaware of the body. Now, open the doors of your soul, let some light in...
